En la mañana de este lunes, alrededor de las 09:00 horas, la Policía Local de Xàbia ha acudido a un accidente ocurrido en el cruce ubicado entre la Avenida Palmela y la calle Jorge Luis Borges. Un vehículo había impactado contra un patinete quedando herida la usuaria del monociclo.
Al parecer, según fuentes municipales, el accidente se ha producido por un despiste del conductor del vehículo, quien no se ha detenido en el Ceda el Paso y ha impactado con el patinete que iba en dirección al Puerto.
Debido al choque, la conductora del patinete ha caído al suelo y ha sufrido una contusión en la cabeza (ya que no llevaba el debido casco de seguridad), con gran presencia de sangre.
A la llegada de los sanitarios, y tras la atención in situ, han calificado a la herida como leve, aunque ha sido trasladada al Centro de Salud y posteriormente al Hospital Comarcal.
I have seen many near misses with scooters in Xabia. One nearly ran into an elderly woman on the arenal bridge crossing. He came down the hill with no intention of stopping
and nearly hit her, obviously expecting her to move!
Why not mandatory helmets and insurance, to make them more responsible?
Why not forbid everything? ? In that case it was the fault of the car driver and when I see how they drive here in the traffic circles then most of them should have their driver’s license taken away.
What are you talking about? It was not the fault of the driver. Scooters should not be ridden across zebra crossings, they should be walked over just like bicycles. And nearly always they just speed across in front of vehicles without even looking. Just today a girl on a scooter crossed the road directly in front of me from a turning on the right without looking, the second time this has happened. They have no road training, don’t obey the road laws, have no clue what they are doing, and most don’t even wear helmets!
Come on; seriously? «Scooters should not be ridden across zebra crossings» – and so that’s why you don’t stop? Cuantos payasos en el mundo?
